Bangle Size Guide

Find Your Perfect Copper Fit

So, you’ve fallen in love with a bangle — but before you admire that warm copper glow on your wrist, let’s make sure it fits just right. This simple guide will help you measure your hand or wrist, understand bangle sizes, and choose the perfect fit for your personal style.

Why Size Matters

A bangle is a closed circle or oval that slides gently over your hand and rests on your wrist. It should neither fight you going on nor make a daring escape when you wave.

  • Too small: You’ll struggle to get it on.
  • Too large: It might slip off.
  • Just right: It glides on comfortably, sits beautifully, and feels like it was made for you — because it was.

How to Measure for the Perfect Fit

There are three easy ways to find your ideal size.

You’ll need: A soft measuring tape (or ribbon and ruler) — or a favourite bangle that already fits you well.

1. Measure Your Hand (for Closed Bangles)

  1. Tuck your thumb into your palm, as if you’re slipping on a bangle.
  2. Wrap the tape around the widest part of your knuckles (including the thumb knuckle).
  3. Note the measurement where the tape overlaps — that’s your hand circumference.

2. Measure Your Wrist (for Cuffs and Open Bangles)

  1. Wrap the tape snugly around your wrist bone — not too tight, not too loose.
  2. Mark where the tape overlaps — that’s your wrist circumference.

Tip: No measuring tape? Use a piece of string and then measure it against a ruler.

3. Measure an Existing Bangle

  1. Lay the bangle flat on a table.
  2. Measure straight across the inside from one inner edge to the other — this is your internal diameter.
  3. Prefer circumference? Multiply the diameter by 3.14 (C = 3.14 × D).

Choosing the Right Style

Closed Bangles

Measure around your hand (not your wrist). Choose a size that slips on comfortably and stays put — or go one size up for a relaxed fit.

Open Bangles and Cuffs

These have a small gap or open back for easy wearing. Choose the size closest to your wrist or hand measurement for a secure, comfortable fit.

Hinged Bangles

Hinged designs open with a clasp, so you only need your wrist measurement. They’re ideal for gifts since they’re more forgiving in size. Most measure between 60–64 mm in internal diameter when closed.

Extra Tips from the Bench

  • Wide bangles feel firmer than slim ones — go slightly larger if in doubt.
  • Layered bangles look beautiful when they move freely — choose a relaxed fit for stacking.
  • Gem-set bangles are often hinged for security and comfort — measure your wrist for those.
